On November 14, 2025, Tendercare’s Director of Advocacy, Darcy Tower, attended the annual Indiana Association of Adult Day Services conference as a board member. As a former Medicaid Director of Provider Relations, Darcy champions the impact adult day centers have on supporting individuals to remain at home. Home Health and Adult Day are two services that work together to help people sustain their independence and are especially important as caregiver needs continue to grow across Indiana.
How Adult Day Supports Indiana Families
As providers of Home and Community-Based Services, we’re always looking for ways to help individuals thrive at home instead of moving to a nursing facility. Tendercare is always building relationships with other providers to ensure we meet whole-person needs. For family members supporting their loved ones and also managing other responsibilities like childcare or working outside the home, it can be challenging to juggle caregiving and life responsibilities.
Tendercare partners with the Indiana Association of Adult Day Services as a way to support caregivers and their loved ones. Additionally, qualifying caregivers may receive reimbursement for the time they are available to provide caregiving services.
Where Home Health Fits In
Adult day centers are a wonderful way for individuals with healthy aging or disabilities to participate in social activities in the center, safely attend community outings, receive two meals a day, and experience a variety of enrichment activities in center life. They provide respite for caregivers who are working outside the home or have other life responsibilities.
We know adult day won’t cover the entirety of a person’s care. This is where Tendercare comes in. We can pay qualifying caregivers for the support they deliver before they start their day, when they end their day, and on weekends.
